Craig Addy holds a Performer’s A.R.C.T. from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and a B.Mus. from the University of British Columbia. At UBC, Craig studied piano with Marjorie Hougham and composition with Stephen Chatman and Cortland Hultberg. Craig is the creative director of Under the Piano which is a musical performance of improvised music enjoyed by individuals and couples as they lie under his grand piano. He teaches piano, with a special focus in reviving the lost art of improvising in the classical music genre. Craig is of two ensembles. The Amicus Music Duo and The Quiet Hearts Ensemble. Amicus specializes in performances that combine tradition classical music and improvisation in unique and intimate locations. The Quiet Hearts Ensemble currently provides a weekly performance of spontaneously composed music called Music Oasis at St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church in Vancouver.
