Michele loves life and all of its complexities. She is a zealous creator of living lessons for children, parents and teachers, translating leading edge research and practices in mindfulness, neuroscience and compassionate communication. It is her intention to teach children these practices so that can become more resilient, self-regulating, self aware and joyful. Her own personal growth has led to travel all over the world and to practices that led her deep inside herself. It is through these practices that much of her teaching stems. She now teams with James Baraz in writing a book for parents and teachers in Awakening Joy For Kids.
She has taught in the public education system for the past 25 years although all of her principals have described her as “out of the box” and out of the building with her students! Her university training focused on special education, psychology, kinesiology and art. She has taught kindergarten to grade 12, with a focus on elementary school, having job shared with over 30 other educators. For the past 10 years, her focus has been social and emotional learning.
Listen in as Lucca and Rebecca explore why Michele was drawn to co-create “Awakening Joy for Kids,” and feel the contagiousness of joy that emerged during our time on air together!
