Karolina Francis wears many hats – she is a regulated Canadian immigration consultant,a journalist, a business owner, a teacher of immigration law, a speaker, a workshop facilitator, a mother and an avid motorcyclist.

Her true calling is helping people to belong in Canada. She immigrated to Canada 15 years ago, from the vibrant city of Warsaw, Poland, to join her Canadian husband.

Despite her high education, knowledge of several languages and extensive work experience as a television journalist, she spent many difficult years finding out how to belong in this new Canadian society.

Belonging is one of the most essential and profound needs of a human being. In her work, Karolina not only assist people with their immigration journey to Canada but also helps newcomers find their way in the new reality. Her programs focus on four core aspects of life – workplace culture, education, finance and leadership.

Her passion is to give people tools on how to integrate into the society so they can enjoy their lives fully in the new reality.

Lucca and Rebecca explore Karolina’s experiences to see how it was made her who she is today!

From the age of six, Joe began following his father around his workshop in Masset, on Haida Gwaii, and was particularly effective at getting in the way. As a born business man, his accomplishments are many:  Red Seal certified carpenter, Gold seal trained project manager, founding member of Canada’s Net Zero Energy Housing Council, Design Advisory Panel Member for the City of North Vancouver, 4 years as a Construction Instructor. His passion for building intricate, eco-friendly homes combined with this natural business acumen has helped his company, Naikoon, become what it is today: one of the most experienced High Performance Building companies around.

Danielle Knight is the owner of Ever Modern Home, an innovative online furniture company that sells small space furniture for condos, lofts and town homes. She calls herself a ‘modern diva’ (strong, confident, self-aware, in-tune) and an entrepreneur with a big heart. While grooving in meeting people’s needs and not just creating transactions, she loves to learn and build businesses through innovation and creativity. Prior to starting Ever Modern Home she worked in the tech, hospitality, environmental and distribution industries. She’s using all of the knowledge from her past plus the passion for creation to grow.

Rebecca’s Take-Away:

Danielle’s passion seems to be adaptable to a multitude of challenges. I admire how she chooses what she wants to conquer and throws everything she has learned so far at it, knowing she shall succeed!

Lucca’s Take-Away:

You can’t connect the dots looking forward.

Steve, Shaun and their team have tackled many challenging and exciting projects for the last three, the latest of which is to build one of the first certified passive houses in Vancouver.

Rebecca’s Take-Away:

“Steve is passionately motivated by connection and purpose.  His mind is quick and his hands are ready, but more than that – his heart is open.”
